This is my first blog, Wow, who would of thunk it.
Anyway the name of this blog initiated from a great book I just finished reading, twice, of course titled 'A Leap in the Dark' by John Ferling. It is the story of the struggle to create the American republic. The book starts in the 1750's with George Washington fighting/starting the French-Indian War and ends with Thomas Jefferson's election to the presidency in 1800.
The title intrigued me because it is so relevant in today's political/economic environment. We take a leap in the dark every day and hope at the end of the day our economy hasn't crumbled. Our country took a leap in the dark with an unexperienced presidential candidate offering change as his only real stand.
In the end, it will work out for us, because like the Americans of the 1770's we believe that our system is the best system going and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep it that way. We believe in Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
As I take my figurative blog Leap in the Dark, our country takes a much larger literal Leap in the Dark.
I hope I don't bore too many people with my historical ramblings or my musings on music, which at this point seem to be what I want to write about, but who knows where this will take me. Thanks for reading.

One might say I took a leap in the dark marrying you and look how that turned out.
